RSN is pleased to be involved in the national 2.6 challenge, and we're looking for fundraisers now!
30th April 2020 Update
It's been a wonderful week at RSN. We put out a call to our friends and supporters to help us compensate for the lost income from the London Marathon. Here's what happened:
Harlesden's 26 ft. Louis Theroux
We love Harlesden. RSN is a local charity at heart and while it's been a pleasure to grow, we are still rooted in Harlesden. It's why we're building the first refugee education centre on the famous High Street. So we decided to ask our friends, families and neighbours what we love about Harlesden, 26 in 26 seconds to be precise. We got a great response, including the support of a new friend.
Olga is a good friend of RSN and the assistant principal at the Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre. Her home work out was an inspiration and she smashed her target! Hero! Thank you! It's never to late to donate!
Mo is a staff member at RSN but it was his Mum who made the difference. 2.6 Keepy-Up's was the challenge and they made it! The link to their page is here. The deal was she would choose the music for his challenge, and he would choose the music for hers! Check out the video!
The 2.6 Challenge is really simple. Dream up any activity based around the number 2.6 or 26, video you completing the challenge, and ask your friends and family to support the charity of your choice!
Why 26? The challenge has been created to compensate for the loss of income that would have been generated on the 26th April 2020 from the London Marathon. We also note there are 26 million refugees in the world and wonder if that had anything to do with the decision!
With schools closed and lockdown in place, refugees are facing incredibly difficult challenges, more so than ever, and we need you to support them.
It's really easy to sign up and it's a great chance to get creative, active and helping others. Just remember to tag us in your posts and spread the word! #twopointsixchallenge @refugee_support on Twitter and @rsn_uk on Instagram
Short of ideas? Here are 26 (obviously!) to get you thinking!
