Salma supports RSN's Higher Education Programme by offering insight, advice and training to higher education institituions. Her own experience of forced migration and the asylum system in the UK allows her to share and highlight the main problems that refugees and asylum seekers face in the context of their education, and what can be done to make it a little easier for them. She has also been instrumental in creating RSN's diversity traineeship.

Salma is a past mentee and intern at RSN, and believes education is the biggest hope for refugees and asylum seekers to survive and thrive. Her own experience of being motivated by her mentor and encouraged to chase her dreams and not give up by the RSN family has moved her to give back to RSN and young refugees where she can.
