In October 2017, we shared stories of how young refugees were benefitting from refurbished technology. Mohammed and Wei's experience exemplifed how much of a difference a laptop and an internet connection could make to a young person and their education.
Today, we are more grateful than ever to our brilliant partners who help support young refugees in this way. Social Box, for example are a social enterprise who currently source laptops, clean them and refurbish them for use by vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals. We are thrilled that these laptops will enable young refugees and asylum seekers to connect with friends, key support networks, important information, and to continue to engage in their school and college learning online through this difficult period for all.
We encourage you to check them out. You can read their full press release of our partnership, here!
If you or your organisation/company has laptops to donate, please do contact their wonderful team. For obvious reasons, they are facing a much higher demand than usual. Let us or them know - it could make such a huge difference.
Stay safe all!
